Help and Advice on Becoming a Full Time RVer

Welcome to the website designed for RVers. The purpose of this site is to share the fun you can have being a fulltime RVer and to provide a resource of helpful materials.  My name is Chris and I’ll be your hostess.  I’m looking forward to “meeting” you and sharing experiences and information!

Advice for the Newcomers

This site will be filled with tips and words of wisdom from beginners and the experts on RVing. We invite everyone to chime in by posting comments.

I’ll share our experiences, both positive and negative, so your transition to becoming a Fulltime RVer can be much easier and hopefully pitfall free. Please understand that what I share is from our experiences and opinions only.  These aren’t the only way or necessarily the “right way” to do things. These are merely suggestions and recommendations.

My intent is to help those of you who are thinking about living in your RV full time make some decisions, do planning, and get ready for your new life.

Also, we’re hoping it will help all RVers, not just Full Timers, learn about the do’s and don’ts of RVing. We’ll share checklists, how to videos, fun places to visit, how to map out a trip, what to look for in an RV park, and lots of other helpful information.

The Strengths of the RV Community

The one thing I love about the RVing community is the willingness to share experiences and knowledge. There is so much to learn and multiple ways of doing things. Some are easier and safer than others, so I’ll share everything about our experiences and hope you will do the same. My goal is for this site to be community driven.

Join Us by  Sharing Your Comments, Suggestions and Stories

I’ve included an opportunity where you can provide comments, share helpful hints, submit articles and ask questions. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll do my best to find it. Again, it’s all about sharing and learning from each other.

Why two blogs?

Some of you may be wondering why there are two blogs, the Travel Journal and the RVer Blog. The answer to that is easy. We are targeting two audiences with this site. The purpose of the travel journal is to allow our family and friends to follow our adventures. Many of them are not interested in some of the more technical or RV related issues, so the Travel Journal is for them. The RVer Blog is for all RVers, full timers or part timers alike. But you are welcome to follow along on both if you wish.

Are you kidding, 750.000 parts?

When we first bought our Rig, someone told us it had 750,000 parts and at any one time 5% are not working properly. I’m not sure who sat down and counted them, yet it’s like putting a house on a truck chassis and bouncing it down the road. Things are bound to happen, so it’s best to be prepared for the inevitable. Hopefully we’ll help you do just that.

This will be fun and I’m so happy to have you join us! Take your time and browse through the material and if you have anything to add…please do so in the comment section. We’re all in this together and can learn so much from each other.

So with that said…let’s get rolling!
